It wasn’t the first time Monica had crossed the line. Months earlier, Eleanor’s garden gnome had vanished and then reappeared in Monica’s yard with a fresh coat of blue paint. A lawnmower had also mysteriously disappeared and returned a week later damaged and out of fuel. Eleanor always kept quiet, telling herself it was easier to maintain the peace.

The next morning, he retrieved the stolen garden gnome and placed it next to the garage outlet. Then he prepared a small surprise for Monica. That same afternoon, Monica returned in her Tesla and approached the outlet again with her charging cable, apparently believing that Eleanor would continue to allow it.

When Monica moved the gnome, a hidden mechanism activated, spraying bright pink paint all over her head and clothes. Her scream alerted the neighbors, many of whom immediately began recording. Eleanor calmly confronted her about the electricity theft and reminded everyone that Monica had previously been taking things without permission.
