strawberry bagel salad

Ingredients

Savory Kliches (rolls or sticks) 3 cups Easily crushed
Unsalted butter 1 cup (2 sticks) Molten
strawberry pie filling 1 box (21 ounces) For filling
Whipped cheese spread 1 jar (24-26 ounces) Softened

Instructions

  1. Preparing the dish   – Lightly grease a 13 x 9 inch glass baking dish.
  2. Crush the bagels   – Place the bagels in a zip-lock bag and crush them into small pieces, avoiding crumbs.
  3. Preparing the base  : Crumble the bagels with melted butter until well coated. Press firmly into the prepared pan and refrigerate for 20 to 30 minutes.
  4. Spread the cream layer   evenly over the cooled base, distributing the softened cream cheese as you go. Refrigerate for another 20 to 30 minutes.
  5. Scatter the strawberries   over the cream cheese layer, spreading it evenly to the edges.
  6. Allow to cool until set   – cover lightly and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight for best results.
  7. Serve cold   – cut into squares and gently lift to reveal the layers.
